One of my favorite hikes is up Mt. Washington via the Ammonoosuc
Ravine Trail.  It is the quickest way to the top, but it is like climbing
stairs - a lot of work.  This trail can be very difficult in ice and the
weather can change very quickly...... so be prepared.
