This bear has just knocked down my bird feeder.  He is a little bold
(probably very hungry) because usually one does not encounter bears
during the day.  I am glad he wasn't interested in me J.  This
was 7:30 at night May 20, 2002.

Here he is looking at me, (he is not growling) he is chewing
on the nice black oil sunflower seeds.  He was not bothered
by me at all.  I was up on my deck and far enough away
from him (I used a zoom lense) that I was in no danger.
Black bears are very dangerous and are known to charge
people for no reason at all.  I would never put myself in
a position where I was not safe.
