The Saffron Kitchen by Yasmin Crowther (8/8)

This story is told form the point of view of a  nine-year-old boy who is  raised in a privileged household. His strict parents expect good manners and unquestioning respect for authority.   The family moves to a new home far from Berlin.  From his bedroom window, Bruno can see hundreds of people behind a high wire fence wearing striped pajamas. Uncertain of what it means, the boy is eager to discover the secret of the people on the other side.

The Saffron Kitchen by Yasmin Crowther (8/8)
The Lay of the Land by Richard Ford (8/22)
The Sirens of Baghdad by Yasmina Khadra (9/5)
Wine and War by Don Kladstrup (10/3)
