RADIO SYSTEM
The radio system consists of a Jabra Boom Headset for 2-Way Radios from Radio Shack (#21-1892) attached to a Motorola Talk-About 250.
The Motorola uses the FRS 14 channels and 38 subcodes. With the headset I am unable to use the PTT lapel clip and leaving it on VOX would not be practical in a group. Instead I need to push the PTT button in the middle of the radio's face. I keep my radio in the left pouch of my cummerbund and am able to use the PTT button through the pouch material, even with gloves on, so this radio works well for me.
