FARMINGTON SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF MARCH 17, 2003 FARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL NON-PUBLIC SESSION I Steve Yurick Brian Blake, Superintendent Dave Vachon Butch Lewis, Principal Richard Cilley Deborah Briggs, Bus. Adm. Todd Lefebvre, Chairman Mike Lee, Principal Dave McGuigan Peter Weaver, Asst. Principal Scott Mooers, Fac. Manager Cynthia Sparks, Principal Joel Chagnon, Asst. Principal Richard Welch, Principal Discussion followed on whether or not administration has plans on cutting specific positions. Brian explained that there is no possible way to cut nearly 1 million dollars out of a budget without touching positions. He explained the process administration would be going through and they have already begun that process. He hopes to schedule workshops next week. This is going to take some time. After all, it took three months to put together a budget, its not going to be easy to cut over 900,000.00 out of it. There is a lot to take into consideration. We must maintain the integrity of the school and keep the best interests of the children in mind. He is not in a position at this time to present any final recommendations for cuts. Dave McGuigan wants to come out of non-public session if there are no specific non-public issues to discuss. Brian explained that he does have non-public issues to bring up. It was decided that those issues would be brought to a second non-public session later in this evening. MOTION: Dave McGuigan moved to come out of non-public session.
