Dave Vachon

Mr. and Mrs. R. and Coach D. enter the meeting. Introductions follow. Mr. R. addresses the Board with an ongoing issue regarding his son pitching and catching for the baseball team. Mr. and Mrs. R. explain their issue. Coach D. then explains the issue as he sees it. Discussion follows. Todd Lefebvre explains that this is not a School Board issue, and that Mr. Lee should look into this.

No motion made.

Mr. and Mrs. R., Coach D. and Mr. Lee leave the meeting.

Butch Lewis enters the meeting for a student issue.

Mother and JT enter meeting. Introductions are made. Todd Lefebvre explains the right to be heard in Public Session, and the right to an attorney.

The Mom decides to move forward with the meeting.

Butch Lewis explains the reason for JT coming before the Board, due to policy regarding 3 suspensions. He explains why JT has had each suspension and what happened to cause the most recent suspension. JT was issued a Saturday suspension and left it without permission, and also swore at Mr. Lewis.

The board asks JT what happened and why. Mom states that this is pretty accurate. Steve Yurick asks JT what grade he is in, and what his grades are, does he play any sports, or have any hobbies, what he does. JT states that he is not doing well in school, does not play sports, and does not do too much. He does however, know that he can get decent grades if he wants to. Steve Yurick explains that it is his decision, and up to him how he proceeds. He should realize that those grades will stay with him for the rest of his life, that they are a permanent record. Discussion followed.

Todd Lefebvre explains to Mom and JT that the Board will make its decision and she will be notified.

Mom and JT leave the meeting.

MOTION: Todd Lefebvre motions for expulsion. SECOND: Steve Yurick seconds with discussion. Discussion follows. Recommendation for expulsion for remainder of this year, and highly recommending that Mom send the child to a summer school program at their own expense. Then, after the successful completion of a summer school program, the child should return to see the School Board regarding entering school in the fall. VOTE: 3 Yes, 1 abstain, Rich Cilley, to expel with recommendation.

MOTION: Todd Lefebvre motions to come out of the Non-Public session. SECOND: Dave Vachon VOTE: Unanimous by roll call @ 7:40 p.m.
