GAIA:
Ahhhhh....just what i was hoping for! THANKS!!
Ok,here's my .02 -

I find Quantum Science fascinating and think there may be some answers thru its
principles.
I don't think this makes magick/ psychic gifts any less wondrous or magickal,
it may simply be a way to explain how they actually operate.
There are several principles which seem to bear.

First, there's Bell's Theorem," which states that "if the statistical
predictions of quantum theory are true, an objective universe is incompatible
with the law of local causes." This is a rather fancy way of saying that
there is no such thing as an "objective universe" existing apart from human
consciousness. Our consciousness works upon the universe in ways we do not yet
understand, but have proven in laboratory settings. In fact, Physicist Even
Harris Walker has suggsted that the "basic 'unit' of consicousness is the
quantum, itself"!

Nobel-winning physicist Eugene Wigner states that if mind could NOT affect the
physical world, but was only affected by it, this would be the only known
example in modern pshysics of such a one-way interaction. In modern physics,
one-way interactions are NOT known to occur!

Willis Harman of the Stanford Research Institute, described what he considered
to be the qualities of human consciousness that are required to explain known
observations in modern physics:
 a. Mind is spatially extended.
  b. Mind is temporally extended.
  c. Ultimately mind is predominant over physical.
  d. minds are joined.

There is a new view of underlying ORDER to the universe -- wht has been termed
by David Bohm and others as "the Implicate Order". While in the traditional
view, the sensory world of objects and events is primary, all living matter is
potentially dead, and everything awaits death; life is characterized by
movement and death is characterised by stasis; in the IMPLICATE view, the
sensory world is NOT primary, they belong to an explicate order which is
grounded, or ENFOLDED, in an UNDERLYING indivisible totality -- ie, the
IMPLICATE order.
All matter belongs to the implicate order, whiere everything is alive. "What
we call dead is an abstraction," says Bohm. The implicate order enfolds all,
and is flux, thus both life and death are movment, and NOTHING is static.
(quoted by Dr Larry Dossey, in _Space, Time and Medicine_ , p 186).

Ok, next:

Most ppl are familiar with the hologram -- a specially constructed image,
EACH PIECE of which contains all of the elements to reconstruct the whole. The
only thing that is needed to access this information is a laser -- which is
actually "coherent light" -- light waves that are tightly focused and all of
(approx ) the same frequency.

Going further, Bohm has suggested that holograms may be ubiquitous in nature!
Although they are constructed artificially from two interfering wave fronts of
cohenent light impinging on a photographic plate, it is possible that this
general phenomenon could be recorded in other ways. After all, light is only
ONE expression of wave phenomena. Waves are actually commonplace in nature.
Electron beams, sound waves, or 'any form of movement' could make holograms.
The univesrse is permeated with wave forms -- and, says Bohm, we may live in a
holographic universe -- the HOLOVERSE.

Imagine: it may be that each and EVERY particle of the Universe has the
information to reconstruct the whole -- if only we could somehow "decode" it.

Well, it turns out that OUR MINDS HAVE HOLOGRAPHIC FEATURES! In an attempt
to account for key observations about brain function which for decades have
puzzled brain physiologists, Stanford neurophysiologist Karl Pribram arrived
at a radical proposal: the hologram is a model of brain function. In essence,
the brain is the "photographic plate" on which the information in the universe
is encoded.

Well, perhaps this "decoding' is part of what certain people are doing when
they spontaneously experience precognitio or other psychic gifts.
Perhaps they are using "coherent thought" -- thought that has become
tightly focused, trained through such disciplines as meditation or magick --
though which they are able to access the Holoverse!

Bohm wrote: "Ultimately, the entire universe (with all its 'particles' --
including those constituting human beings, their laboratories, observing
instruments, etc.) has to be understood as a single undivided whole, in which
analysis into seperately and independently existent parts has no fundamental
status!"

There is an invisible wholeness that unites the objects that are given birth
in the universe.

"Human beings are essentially dynamic processes and patterns that are
fundamentally not analyzable into separate parts -- either within or bwtween
each other. It is their interrelatedness and oneness, not their isolation and
separation, which is most important. The possibility that we are each a
holographic mind interpreting a holographic universe is a tantalizing concept.
It provides at once an explanation for the universeal experience ofunity and
oneness...." (this is no airy-fairy Newager talking, this is a physicist/
medical doctor!) -- Dr. Larry Dossey, Ibid, pp102-112.

What think ye all??
