Common Year 577 Patchwall -You run into several
acquaintances from Solomon’s merchant crew at the Moon and Flagon in Shiran who tell you that one of his caravans, returning
from the Principality of Ulek is long overdue. The
caravan master, Parven was someone you previously
traveled with. He is one of Solomon’s most trusted people. ************** -Returning crusaders bring news of renewed humanoids and other dangers in the Lortmil Mountains. Pitched battles were fought this year
south of Courwood as raiding humanoids came out of
the Suss Forrest. Some force seems to be at work in
the forest organizing and driving the evil creatures within. Rumors of the
lost Suloise city in the Suss
forest are often associated with these increasing troubles. ************** -Caravan’s crossing the Lortmils from Celene report men
and humanoids harassing the tradeway demanding
tribute and tolls. Strong caravans report that they were able to repulse
attacks, but others were not so lucky. It is rumored that a local wizard is
directing these attacks. He supposedly has a small tower fortress high in the
mountains not too far from the tradeway pass.
************** -One of you is approached in the
street by a boy bearing a message. It speaks of your growing reputation for recovering lost items. This person
wishes to meet with you to discuss hiring you for just such a job. ************** -Far to the south, across the
Azure Sea, trade caravan’s are being lost in the
jungles. Survivors report strange creatures and a city of snake people filled
with riches. Many adventurers have sought this place and not returned. Ready’reat -Echerhart
tells you that this is still no word on Parven and
his caravan. Sunsebb -At dinner with the Duke of Ulek and various persons you hear of troubles brewing far
to the East at the heart of the Great Kingdom ************** -While dining in the Tower Inn
you overhear several patrons discussing rumors of a break-in at the house of
the head of the Stark trading company Common Year 578 Fireseek Readying Coldeven Planting Flocktime -Ashlyn, the paladin of Pelor you meet
in Bradeni mentions that she is on quest for a legendary
weapon against undead called the sunsword. Her
research told her that the last known location was in this valley. ************** -Ashlyn mentions that all the locals have told her to speak with
Madam Eva who is an old wise woman and seer who lives west of Bradeni in the Vistani
encampment near Tser Pool. ************** -Ismark the Lesser tells you that the local lord, Ishtvan is responsible for the death of his father, the burgomeister. Apparently Ishtvan
covets Ismark’s sister, Ireena,
and there father refused to allow him near her. He was able to keep Ishtvan away through the use of a powerful holy relic,
which is now with his sister. ************** -Ismark tells you that the locals believe the zombies are the
result of the town priest, Danovitch not performing
his nightly prayer vigils. ************** -Ismark tells you that the zombies are just the latest problem
and that the valley is cursed. He blames Ishtvan
for the villages troubles. ************** -Danovitch’s journal that you recovered from the church mentions that
Ishtvan had a book in which he wrote much of his
history. He thinks this book may hold a key to destroying Ishtvan
or driving him out of the valley. The text was once kept in the library of
the lords castle, holló rész,
northwest of the town. Danovitch was unable to
journey there to find it, and in any case was too afraid. He writes that he
asked Madam Eva about the book, but her answers were unclear. |
