I spent hours watching these little squid. I think
I was following
a family around as there were two large and one small
squid.
What is interesting about squid is that they swim about
12" below
the surface of the water. So when you watch them
they are at your level.
They travel backwards, so they are always facing you
as you watch
them. They seem to also swim in a row at the same
level. A little
further from these three, I ran into a row of ten squid
and it was so
neat to watch. If you got too close and aggravated
them, they would
put out a little puff of ink.
I had snorkeled twice in Bermuda before this trip, and
never saw any
squid, so this was a treat.
