RULES FOR FLYING
Revised
1) To
have fun.
2) Flying
is restricted to Club members and their Guests.
3) All
cars must be parked in designated areas.
4) Flight
boxes and models being prepared for flight shall be restricted to the pit area.
5) On arrival at the field all transmitters
shall be placed in the impound area with the antenna collapsed when impound is
in use.
6) No transmitter shall be turned on unless
the appropriate frequency pin is attached to the transmitter.
7)
Possession of the frequency pin shall be limited to the time necessary for
start up, engine adjustment, takeoff,
and landing if others are waiting.
8) When engines are run to full throttle in
the pits, keep bystanders out of the propeller area.
9)
Extended running of engines for break-in purposes in the pits is not allowed.
10) Do
not aim prop wash at other modelers or their models.
11) Spectators
are welcome but must stay in their designated areas.
12) All
models -must comply with AMA safety requirements.
13) All new models (or models repaired after
major damage) should be inspected for structural integrity by a club officer or
other qualified person.
14) Any radio newly installed in a model or
having been in a model during a crash shall be range checked before flight.
15) No nylon propellers (unless reinforced with
glass fiber) are permitted on engines .40+ cubic inch displacement.
16) Taxiing a model through the pit area is
prohibited.
17) Hand launching is permitted but positively no
hand launching from the pit area.
18) If a model is to be carried out onto the
runway for takeoff, this will be announced to any pilots flying at the time. Members must clear the area when model is
released.
19) No
person shall stand at the end of a runway.
20) All takeoff and landing attempts shall be
previous announced to other flyers that have models in the air.
21) A
landing aircraft has the right of way over all aircraft taking off.
22) A
dead stick aircraft has the right of way over all others.
23) When an engine goes dead in flight, shout "DEAD STICK" loudly several times to warn
others of the impending landing.
24) In any case of model malfunction in the
air, promptly announce the problem to the other flyers.
25) Any
person wishing to retrieve a model from the runway shall previously announce
this intention to the other.
26) There
shall be no flying over the pits or spectators area.
27) There
shall be no flying over houses.
28) Low
flying passes are not permitted closer then the center of the runway.
29) Fliers
shall not consume alcoholic beverages.
30) All persons are responsible for cleaning up
any litter they may have created while on the field.
31) It is advised that no person shall attempt
to start an engine or fly a model
alone at the field.
32)
Pilots must demonstrate safe and
proficient flight before flying solo.
33)
At all times use common sense while on
the field.
