THE
ORTON FAMILY
CHRISTMAS LETTER 2004
“Christmas
is more than trees and twinkling lights, more than toys and
gifts and baubles of a hundred varieties. It is love. It is
the love of the Son of God for all mankind. It reaches out beyond
our power to comprehend.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
Our lives have been touched with so much
love this year. We have so many things to be thankful
for, but most of all we are thankful for the love
of Christ, for family and friends, doctors and nurses, and so
many others that have graced our lives. “…Verily
I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the
least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
(Matthew chapter 25:40.) Thank
you to all who have served us and loved
us!
Here
are some highlights on the family this year…..
STEVEN:
Just hit the five year mark at the Laconia Police Department
and is still loving it, (He is
an amazing policeman who is first in line if they have to break
down a door, but also not afraid to offer a prayer with a grieving
person.) spent many hours playing golf, tennis, basketball and
learning how to ski, still in the Sunday School presidency at
church, continues to be the kind, supportive husband and fun-loving,
compassionate father and LOVES
to wrestle with his children.
BECKY:
Loves playing wife and mother,
enjoys taking Ben on his bi-monthly Dartmouth adventures, continues
to ski, run and play basketball, still plays the organ and teaches
the 16-18 yr. old girls at church, finds time to scrapbook every
once in awhile, teaches piano lessons, spends many hours on
the phone talking to her mom and sisters whom she misses very
much and LOVES to watch her husband
wrestle with the children.

KAYLA (9):
3rd grade, enduring her second year of piano lessons (taught
by mom), played baseball (on an all boys team), soccer, indoor
soccer and basketball, she enjoys reading, is a peacemaker and
LOVES to wrestle with dad.

KALEB (8):
2nd grade, just got baptized, started scouts, played baseball,
soccer and indoor soccer, is now a purple belt in karate, started
his first year of piano lessons, is a most energetic and sensitive
child and LOVES to wrestle with
dad.

STEVIE
(5): Kindergarten, mom’s constant sidekick, enjoys being
read to, serves food to homeless people at a local soup kitchen,
colors and puts together puzzles on a daily basis, is a happy
child with a smile to melt your heart and has finally learned
to LOVE wrestling with dad.

BENJAMIN
(2): Participates in the Early Intervention program, receives
physical therapy three times a week, earning frequent driving
miles to Dartmouth that will hopefully someday be redeemed for
a sunny, tropical vacation, has his own website: http://www.metrocast.net/~reorton/
, is Mom’s best snuggle bug, continues to be our perfect
child in every way, radiates unconditional love
to everyone that comes in contact with him and gets to wrestle
with dad whether he LOVES it or
not.
MERRY
CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
LOVE,
THE ORTON FAMILY
