Narrow Street performs contemporary Christian music with styles ranging from rock to rock-a-billy, blues to ballads, choruses to cover tunes. Originally formed in 1989 as a community ministry outreach of Curtis Lake Christian Church, the members were inspired by Matthew 7:13-14 where Jesus admonishes his followers to "Enter through the narrow gate". Narrow Street has ministered primarily within the town of Sanford/Springvale playing for community concerts, coffee houses and youth rallies as well as chapel services at the Maine Youth Center.
Reformed with some new members in 1998, the band has felt the Lord calling them to expand the ministry further, spending more time writing and recording new material and touring. (Of course, this has been made possible through the loving and dedicated support of family and friends. Thank you!)
Narrow Street’s mission and goal is to encourage the listener to understand and experience the love, joy and saving grace the Lord has for each and everyone through the powerful and effective medium of music.
